Ergonomic Specialties was founded in the early 90’s as a distributor of industrial ergonomic products including tools, seating, back, wrist, and elbow supports, etc. These products were all designed to lessen the effect of repetitive motion and reduce the chance of developing repetitive trauma injuries. As a natural extension of our interest in ergonomics, we later designed and patented the double bladed ice scraper for automotive windshields, shown in the photo to the right. This product is the first major advance in ice scraper design since the first guy used a putty knife to clear the ice off of his windshield 70 or 80 years ago. It allows the user to exert a considerable amount of force on the tool while maintaining a comfortable wrist position on this very stable double bladed “platform”. The utility of this tool rivals that of the double bladed razor and the double bladed windshield wiper. It’s such a simple functional design, you’ll wonder why no one thought of it before.
